A walk along the river (part 1)

Oops, I was supposed to update my blog frequently! It’s been what, two weeks already? I have no excuse, it’s not like I’m busy or anything, I’m just lazy. 😉

In the first week I was here, I discovered ‘the river’. It’s the closest thing to nature I can find around here, not as great as our own Scheldt river in my village, but close enough… 😛 I found lots of awesome flowers, and even some late blooming sakura. Though there are apartments and factories right next to the river, some parts are really quiet and relaxing. Fukuoka’s airport is really close to the city (around here, you can actually hear the sound of the planes taking off) so the planes are flying low and you can see all the details. Since my friend loves planes, I took a few pictures for her and promised her I’d walk to the airport… That’s for another post though. ^^ About the second to last picture: we don’t quite understand why but Japanese parks somehow don’t feature grass… It’s a big mystery why!
